interlübke living survey 2012 to mark the 75th anniversary as a gift to the nation
To mark its 75th anniversary, the manufacturer of high-quality furniture made in Germany is dedicating it opinion survey "Germany in private – How the Germans live 2012" to the nation. The results will be of benefit to many: opinion leaders, designers and the trade – but above all to every resident.
Life area "good home" in first place
For 68 percent of the Germans, a good home is more important than leisure, cars, holidays, the Internet and clothing. The living room is their feelgood space (61%), while the bedroom is reserved for intimacy (68%), reading (65%) and conversations (49%). When it comes to furnishing, almost everyone follows his or her own taste, and when purchasing furniture, functionality (62%) and longevity (57%) count more than the price and the design.
Regardless of income: good living is the most important area of life
With leisure in second place – following living at home – the Germans have once again voted in favour of a private area of life. Higher earners (monthly household income over €2,500) place more value on cars and holidays. In low-income households (up to €1,000 per month), clothing is more important.
Women live more softly
When voting on the importance of a "good home", Germany's women are ahead of the men with 73 percent compared to 64 percent. Both sexes place the highest feelgood factor in the living room. Once there, it's a different story: women want curtains, men prefer a hi-fi system.
Living behaviour through the generations
The importance of a good home increases with age: 61 percent of 18 to 29-year-olds consider it to be very important, among the 40 to 49-year-olds the figure is 64 percent, and among the over 60-year-olds it is even 80 percent. In second place for all generations is leisure – ahead of cars, computers and the Internet. Cars hold little fascination.
musikbox by Werner Aisslinger – Premiere April 2012, Milan Furniture Fair
Interior design is to become a sound experience par excellence: musikbox embodies audiophile living culture integrated into a single piece of furniture. The spectacular co-production of interlübke and LINN designed by Werner Aisslinger will be shown for the first time at MOST Tom Dixon, Museo Nazionale della Scienzia e della Tecnologica, from April 17 to 22 in Milan, and also at the COR und interlübke exhibition, Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Hall 7, B18/C22.
Furnishing the future
How do we want to live? A hovering chrysalis glows mysteriously – our White Salon for Milan. Colour accents in pink, powder tones and soft copper for the accessories promise sunny days. Let your sense of living unfold: Welcome to COR and interlübke from 17 to 22 April, Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Hall 7, Stand B18/C22.
Design as a life philosophy: Werner Aisslinger
This is how experts portray the internationally active Professor of Product Design, who also designed the cabinet programmes cube and cubeˣ, the wardrobe system base and most recently the lowboard musikbox for interlübke. The idea of the cube, which is central to his creative work, is realised partly in the Loft Cube, a mobile living cube which can change its location.
